Debtro Sarkar

Hello friends! Today I am going to share some of my experiences with Abhijit sir. During my High school time I fell in love with mathematics. So I wanted to be a mathematician. But, maybe, this was a love from one side..ha..haaa.., Unfortunately I scored bad marks in Mathematics. Then I got quit disappointed. I decided to take chemistry as Hons subject. At the beginning of BSc, I hadn’t any heartfelt interest with this subject. My mind was confused due to some questions, like what would I do after completing chemistry hons?.. Is it a good option for my future carrier? Fortunately, I met Abhijit sir , at our first discussion I told him about all my doubt. Then he smiled and replied gently, ” it’s not the end of your journey, its the beginning” , explained me about the JAM exam and the opportunity that I can acquire after B.Sc. He is such a kind hearted person, who also informed me about Src sir and Amrit sir, where I got the flavor of Inorganic and Organic chemistry respectively. After completing my B.Sc I was selected for JAM, JNCASR, ISM Dhanbad and BHU. Then I choose IIT Delhi for my masters study. Where I passed out with 8.01 CGPA and got several offers from abroad for PhD and selected for prestigious DAAD fellowship to pursue my research study in TU Munich, Germany. Although I hadn’t given any exam like GRE, IELTS etc. In this regard, I would say to get a PhD position in abroad you don’t always need to crack a English proficiency test. It could be better but not mandatory always. The most important thing is that you have to make your research proposal more fundamental and brief, which should enrich with clear ideas of your research goal. Such kind of approach put additional essence at your application and make your CV stronger, unique. At last, I must say, “No matter how many mistakes you make or how slow your progress is, you are still ahead of everyone who isn’t trying”

M.Sc from IIT DELHI, CGPA 8.01, Currently pursuing PhD in organometalic chemistry from TU MUNICH, Germany.

In the year 2016, selected as DAAD Doctoral fellow for pursue doctoral study in Germany. JNCASR AIR rank 6th.
